The PC Engine (aka
TurboGraphics 16) was launched in 1987 and was the first
16-bits console,. It was especially popular in Japan, but
bad distribution stopped in making it big in America. It
was the first console with a CD-addon as well. Hudsonsoft,
of Dynablaster fame, was the main supplier of games.
