The Neo Geo had many fighting games, as it was released at
the time of the Street Fighter II-hype. Samurai Showdown
(and its sequels) is the best known. It introduced the use
of weapons in the genre.
There were many sports games as well, like Neo turf Master
(a golf game) and Mange-cute puzzlers like Magical Drop 2
(both shown). Later a classic platformer arrived: Metal
Slug.
