Geos was developed in 1985 by the Berkeley-University
spinoff Berkeley Softworks. It gave a second live to the
C64 by giving it an operating system to could compete with
far more expensive computer. It was 'inspired' by the first
MacOS and until Windows 3.x better that all Microsoft could
offer. It tried to conquer the PC a few years later, but it
was too late.
A complete set of office tools was developed, like a DTP
application (GeoPublish) and Spreadsheet (GeoCalc). It was
such a succes that even versions for the Mac were created.
The rights are now in the hands of ZXVCV and the programme
can be downloaded there. Power 64 has a printer driver
which allows Geos documents to be printed on your Mac
